Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams open out their 2017-2018 season, the 115th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the Miami (OH) University RedHawks in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Friday, November 10, at 7:00 p.m. The game will follow a Fordham-UMBC women's game which starts at 5:00 p.m.
The game, which is part of the 2017 Jamaica Classic, will be streamed on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network with Andrew Bogusch (p-b-p) and Kenny Ducey (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and

Fordham enters the game coming off a 13-19 season in 2016-2017 while Miami went 11-21 last winter.
Friday night's contest will be the second meeting between Fordham and Miami on the hardwood. The Rams took the first matchup, 67-60, on December 21, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio, in a first round game of the University of Cincinnati Tournament with Fordham Hall of Famer Jim Cunningham led all scorers in the game with 31 points.

• In honor of Veterans Days, any current and former military personnel can purchase discounted tickets to the game.
• The first 500 students in attendance will receive a ski beanie.
The first 500 Fordham students through the door will receive a Fordham ski beanie.
• The A Capella group "Fordham Ramblers" will sing the National Anthem prior to the women's game and perform at halftime.
Notes
• The Rams have won two of their past four season openers, including a 94-77 win over NYIT in the Rose Hill Gym in 2014. Last year, Fordham opened the season with a loss at East Tennessee State.
• Overall, Fordham is 74-34 (.685) in season openers since 1908, 79-18 (.814) in home openers.
• Over the past three years, Fordham is 19-4 in non-conference home games (5-2 in 2013-14, 9-0 last year and 5-2 this year).
• Overall, the Rams are 22-14 at home over the past two years.
• Fordham connected on 243 three-pointers in 2015-2016, setting a school mark for most treys in a season. The Rams reset the record last year with 264 made three-pointers, the fourth most of any A-10 school, while the Rams 8.2 three-pointers/game average was third best in the Atlantic 10.

Joseph Chartouny was named to the Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Team. He was also named to the preseason All-Defensive Team.
