Volleyball's Ewing & Daulton Named to COBRA Magazine All-Northeast Region Team
Nov. 28, 2011 Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham junior middle hitter Randi Ewing (Demarest, N.J./Dwight-Englewood School) and senior outside hitter Brittany Daulton (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) were named to COBRA Magazine's All-Northeast Region team, the magazine announced in its December issue. Dedicated to highlighting volleyball players of African descent in hopes of inspiring others to pick up the sport, COBRA Magazine selected Ewing as one of 15 members of its All-Northeast Region Team, while Daulton was one of six Honorable Mention selections. Overall, Ewing and Daulton were two of the three Atlantic 10 players to be listed joining Duquesne middle hitter Arielle Love (All-East Region).
Daulton, who was an All-Northeast Region selection last season, wrapped up her Fordham career by posting career-highs in kills (297), kills per game (2.54), digs (270), and total blocks (44). During the year, she became the 11th Ram to record at least 600 kills and 600 digs in her career, and received All-Tournament honors at both the Bucknell and Brown Invitationals. At the Bucknell Invitational, she joined rare company, becoming only the eighth Ram to have at least 24 kills in a match. Daulton also had a team-high 10 double-doubles this season.
