Volleyball Falls To Saint Louis

Bronx, N.Y. - Saint Louis' Anna Church recorded a match-high 11 kills, while Megan Gilbert added 10 kills and five blocks, as the Billikens swept a three-set match from the Fordham Rams on Dig Pink Night at the Rose Hill Gym. Final set scores were 25-18, 25-20, and 25-17.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 13-17 overall, 5-6 in the Atlantic 10, while Saint Louis improved to 8-17 on the year, 3-8 in the league.
The first set saw Saint Louis take advantage of 10 attack errors by the Rams, as the Billikens won the opening set by seven points.
In set two, the Billikens got the offense rolling, hitting .375 as a team to Fordham's .132. Anna Church connected for seven of her match-high 11 kills in the set, leading Saint Louis to a five-point set win.
Set three was again one-sided with the Billikens hitting .333 as a team to Fordham's .057. Megan Gilbert was the hot hand with five kills in the set, while Saint Louis also added four team blocks, finishing the match with 11.5.
For Fordham, Brianna O'Neil and Lisa Hipp each had eight kills to lead the way with Hipp adding 10 digs. Randi Ewing added seven kills and five blocks with Maria Rodenberg recording 12 digs defensively.
The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Friday, November 2nd, when the Rams travel to George Washington for a 7:00 PM match in Washington, D.C.
