On a day when the NFL crowned a champion, Fordham University recognized 275 student-athletes as champions, including nine members of the volleyball program. The Rams in attendance were honored for compiling a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at the Sixth Annual Breakfast for Champions in the McGinley Center Ballroom. [Full Story]

The Atlantic 10 Conference announced their 2009 All-Conference teams and major award winners today, as Fordham junior Katie Wells (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in a vote conducted by the conference head coaches. [Full Story]

Heading into their season finale at Rhode Island, the Fordham volleyball team could only think of what may have been, as the team was just 2-7 in five-set matches and have had major injuries hit the squad. The Rams had one more shot against the Rhode Island Rams, but fell victim to that five-set marker again as well as another injury in Kingston, R.I. The Duquesne Dukes hit close to .300 as a team, while totaling 11 team blocks, as they topped the Fordham volleyball team in three sets at the Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. Final set scores were 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19.[Full Story]

- Temple Rallies Past Fordham in Five Sets to Spoil Senior Day

The Fordham volleyball team looked to keep their slim chance of postseason play alive on Sunday, as well as send off the senior class with a win against Temple, but Temple's Yun Yi Zhang registered 32 kills to rally the Owls to a five-set win over Fordham at the Rose Hill Gym.
