Fordham's Christi Griffiths & Sara Konkel Earn Atlantic 10 Volleyball Weekly Honors

Fordham University's senior middle hitter Christi Griffiths (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and freshman setter Sara Konkel (Elk Grove, Calif./Pleasant Grove) received Atlantic 10 weekly volleyball honors, it was announced on Tuesday. Griffiths earned her fifth career weekly award as the conference's Offensive Player of the Week, while Konkel received her first, as the league's top rookie. [Full Story]

Fordham Volleyball Student-Athletes Aid Freshmen on Move-In Day

All of them have been on campus for over two weeks for preseason practice. Some have even started their season already. But that didn't stop members of the Fordham University football, volleyball, men's soccer, water polo, cross country and cheerleading squads from spending part of their Sunday standing at the ready outside of the various dorms, helping the incoming freshmen unload their vehicles. [Full Story]

Volleyball Wins 2010 Beanpot Classic

Behind All-Tournament performances from Christi Griffiths and Sara Konkel, the Fordham volleyball team improved to 4-0 for the first time in team history on Saturday, defeating both Holy Cross and Quinnipiac, to capture the 2010 Beanpot Classic title. The Rams opened the day with a three set-win over Holy Cross, and concluded the tournament with a four-set victory over Quinnipiac. [Full Story]

  • Volleyball Begins 2010 With Wins Over Northeastern & Boston College at Beanpot Classic
  • Beginning their 2010 season on Friday, the Fordham volleyball team won their opening two matches for the first time since 2007, downing Northeastern in five sets and Boston College in three on day one of the Beanpot Classic in Worcester, Massachusetts.[Full Story]

  • Volleyball Hosts Bid for the Cure Auction on October 7th
  • On October 7th, Fordham's Women Volleyball Team will be hosting Bid for the Cure. Bid for the Cure is a silent auction to raise money for The Side-Out Foundation. The Side-Out Foundation was founded to unite volleyball players and coaches in order to work toward raising breast cancer awareness, education and patient services. Money given to The Side-Out Foundation is contributed to organizations that serve breast cancer patients in the form of research, medicals services and compassionate support.[Full Story]

  • Fordham Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award for 2009-10 Season
  • The Fordham University volleyball team was one of 450 teams recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 season. This number smashes the previous year's total of 409 and sets a new all-time high for this award, as the number of teams recognized has increased in each of the last five years.[Full Story]

  • The Atlantic 10 announced the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring 2010 semester, honoring each student-athlete in the Atlantic 10 with a 3.5 grade point average or better. Included on the list were five members of the Fordham volleyball program.[Full Story]

  • Volleyball Releases 2010 Schedule
  • The Fordham volleyball team announced their 2010 schedule today, which will feature a revamped 15-game Atlantic 10 schedule, as well as four tournaments in non-conference play, highlighted by matches against a number of ACC and Big East opponents.
