Track & Field Finishes With a Flurry at the ECAC/IC4A Championship

Boston, Mass. - The Fordham track & field team finished with a flurry on Sunday at the ECAC/IC4A Championship, held at Boston University. The Rams were in four event finals and earned Second Team All-East honors in two of the four events. Overall, the women's team scored 16 points, which tied for 16th out of 53 teams that scored in at least one event, while the men's squad also had 16 points, which tied for 20th out of 44 scoring teams. First up, senior Sean Atkinson competed in the 500 meter run final, one day after breaking the school record. He would post a time of 1:03.36 on Sunday, which was good for fifth place. Then in the women's 500 meter run, Titi Fagade earned Second Team All-East honors by taking second overall in 1:12.97. After a short respite, Fagade was back at it in the women's 4x800 relay final, as she ran with Melissa Higgins, Mara Lieberman, and Kristen Stuart. The group would break the school record by over six seconds, as Fordham earned Second Team All-East honors with a school record time of 8:48.24. The time broke the previous mark of 8:54.6, set in 1990 by Kathy Fullam, Karen McAuliffe, Ann Cullagh, and Kelly Gallivan. The last of the Fordham entries on Sunday was the men's 4x800 relay, as John Cosgrove, Brian Walter, Michael Rossi, and Ryan Polo finished fifth overall in 7:30.00.
