Fordham University senior Melissa Salerno (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) was named the 2007 women's cross country most valuable player as well as the 2007-08 women's indoor track and field most valuable player it was announced at the 74th annual Block F Awards Dinner at the Villa Barone Manor on April 30th. Select members of the Fordham track & field team traveled their way to Princeton University for this year's ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Overall, Fordham had two individuals and three relay teams competing at the three-day event from May 16-18.[Full Story]

The Fordham University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up competition today at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Track & Field Complex on the campus of the University of Massachusetts. The Fordham men placed seventh of 11 teams while the women were eleventh of 12 teams.[Full Story]

Despite chilly conditions and intermittent periods of rain, Fordham junior Brigid Moriarty managed to place fifth in the 10,000m on Saturday at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Track & Field Complex on the campus of the University of Massachusetts.[Full Story]

- Womens' 4x800 Relay Places Fifth in Section

The 4x800 relay of Melissa Salerno, Kerri Gallagher, Catherine Groene and Kathleen Reilly placed fifth in their section and 16th overall at the 2008 Penn Relays in a season-best time of 9:17.46 while the 4x400 relay of Dana Mitchell, Salerno, Groene and Gallagher placed seventh in their section and 73rd overall in a time of 4:02.47.[Full Story]

The Fordham track & field teams had an extremely successful day at the 2008 Metropolitan Outdoor Championships, as the men won the team competition, while the women finished second behind St. John's. Individually, Fordham junior Matt DiBuono was named Athlete of the Meet.[Full Story]

The Fordham University men's and women's outdoor track and field squads competed today at the Coach O Invitational held at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The Rams had two event winners on the day as Melissa Salerno took the women's mile while Matt DiBuono was victorious in the hammer throw.[Full Story]
