Women's Tennis Edged by Albany

Albany, N.Y. - The Fordham women's tennis team returned to the courts on Saturday, falling to Albany by a 7-0 count. The match opened with doubles where Fordham won at second doubles with Bethany Boyle and Taylor Holt taking down Aubrey Brooks and Caitlin Crowley by a 9-8 score, 7-5 in the tiebreaker. The Rams however couldn't earn the doubles point, as Albany won at first and third doubles by scores of 8-6 and 8-4. In singles play, Albany swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Albany's Livia Gherman topped Sarah Tremaine at first singles, 6-2, 6-2, while Laine Mackey and Crowley won their respective second and third singles matches over Martina Featherston and Boyle by identical, 6-2, 6-3 scores. The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action Wednesday, March 10th, when they play at St. Peter's, beginning at 3:00 PM. Fordham at Albany Doubles
