Fordham seniors Jen Mineau (Schaghticoke, N.Y./Hoosic Valley Central) and Lindsey Kay Bright (Federal Way, Wash./Decatur) each received one final accolade for their collegiate careers as Mineau was named to the NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic First Team for the third straight season while Bright was named a Second Team honoree on Wednesday, her first career award from the NFCA. Maybe it's a Friday thing, but exactly one week after playing the longest game in school history, the Rams were involved in another marathon contest, this one with George Washington at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship. And similarly to the UMass game last week, the Rams came out on the short end, falling 4-1 to the Colonials. [Full Story]

The last time Massachusetts' Sara Plourde and Fordham's Jen Mineau met the game turned into a 17-inning marathon that the Minutemen won, 2-1. On Friday in St. Louis, the two pitchers squared off again but this one ended after seven innings as the Minutewomen defeated the Rams, 2-0, on day two of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championships at the Billiken Sports Center on the campus of Saint Louis University. After defeating Saint Joseph's in its first game of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday, the second seed and defending conference champions, Fordham University, will meet the top-seed, the University of Massachusetts, on Friday at 2:00 PM (EST) on day three of the tournament at the Billiken Sports Center.[Full Story]

When the Fordham softball team arrived in St. Louis, it knew that its first opponent in the Atlantic 10 championship would be a team from Philadelphia, and after completion of play on day one, the Rams will begin their Atlantic 10 title defense against Saint Joseph's, who defeated Temple in the second game of the tournament.[Full Story]

The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its 2012 All-Conference teams for softball with six Fordham Rams finding their names on the lists. Seniors Lindsey Kay Bright and Jen Mineau, junior Jamie LaBovick, sophomore Elise Fortier and freshman Paige Ortiz were all First Team All-Atlantic 10 honorees while Mineau was also named Academic All-Conference, Additionally, freshman Brianna Turgeon and Ortiz were selected to the All-Rookie team.[Full Story]
