Fordham University junior designated player Mary Beth Puccio (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) was named to the ECAC Softball Division I All-Star First Team today. Fordham's Mary Beth Puccio Named First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America®

Fordham University junior designated player Mary Beth Puccio was named First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® for softball in a voting among the district's Sports Information Directors it was announced today. She becomes the first Fordham softball student-athlete to earn Academic All-America® honors since Erin Brooks in 2004. [Full Story]

  • Fordham University senior third baseman/pitcher Allison Twarowski (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and freshman outfielder Jocelyn Dearborn (New Milford, Pa./Blue Ridge) were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Louisville Slugger All-Mid Atlantic Region Team it was announced today.   • Late Inning Heroics Comes Up Short for Softball
  • Following last night's extra inning affair, the Fordham softball team was ready early Saturday morning to take on the Charlotte 49ers and advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship for the third time in four years. However, the storybook ending went to the 49ers, scoring a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to win, 2-1, and eliminate Fordham from the tournament.[Full Story]

  • Softball Stays Alive At A-10 Championship With Amazing 13-Inning Win
  • It took five hours and 13 minutes, 19 hits, and two lightning delays but the Fordham Rams kept their Atlantic 10 Softball Championship hopes alive with an 8-2 13-inning win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at the Phillips Softball Complex in Charlotte, N.C. It tied the longest game in Atlantic 10 history, while the Rams set or tied four other game records, including having 19 hits in the game.[Full Story]

  • Softball Falls to UMass at Atlantic 10 Championship
  • In what seems to be the theme of the tournament, Fordham and UMass found themselves in another pitcher's duel between Fordham's Nicole Ayres and UMass' Brandice Balschmiter. While the Rams were able to connect for four hits off Balschmiter, they couldn't push any runs across the plate. However, UMass' was able to notch a pair of runs as the Minutewomen defeated the Rams, 2-0, on day two of the Atlantic 10 Softball Championship at Charlotte's Phillips Complex.[Full Story]
