99 Fordham Student-Athletes Named to 2009 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll

Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade today announced the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Spring 2009 semester, honoring each student-athlete in the Atlantic 10 with a 3.5 grade point average or better. Fordham's Samantha Pellechio Named to Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Region First Team

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the 2009 All-Region teams this afternoon, with Fordham sophomore shortstop Samantha Pellechio (Lebanon, N.J./North Hunterdon) earning First Team All-Mid-Atlantic honors. [Full Story]

Fordham Softball Season Ends with 7-3 Loss to Saint Joseph's at A-10 Championship

It's hard to beat a team four times in one year as the Fordham Univeristy Rams found out on Friday at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship. Facing a team they had beaten three times already in 2009, including once in the championship, Saint Joseph University used a six-run third inning to defeat the Rams, 7-3, and eliminate Fordham from the championship. [Full Story]

  • Fordham University senior designated player Mary Beth Puccio was named First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District for softball for the second straight year in a voting among the district's Sports Information Directors it was announced today.   • In a long line of Fordham firsts this season, the Fordham softball team earned a split of games at #24/19 Massachusetts on Sunday, getting their first ever win in Amherst, as the Rams took the nightcap, 5-4, while dropping game one by a 4-0 count.
