Assisting Ness Selmani on the bench for the fifth straight season is Casey Sommers. Since joining the staff, Sommers has helped lead Fordham to back-to-back Atlantic 10 Championship game appearances in 2006 and 2007. Overall in her stay, the Rams have compiled 45 wins over the past four seasons and set team single season records for overall wins (14 in 2006), conference wins (8 in 2008), goals (45 in 2006), and assists (44 in 2006). Sommers is no stranger to Fordham Soccer, playing four seasons for the Rams from 1999-2002, serving as team captain in 2001. In four years, she appeared in 61 contests, registering six goals and seven assists. After graduation Sommers played with the Rhode Island Rays WPSL team and continues to play today in the NYWMSL. Outside of Fordham, she is the Head Coach of the NY Magic Super Y U-15 team and has served as a soccer coach at North Carolina Girls Soccer Camp, Soccer Extreme Camps and in the Collegiate Soccer System. Sommers graduated from Fordham in 2003 with a degree in Political Science with a minor in Business. She is currently a paralegal at Cohen & Gresser, LLP, where she oversees deposition and arbitration preparation. |
