In an even match-up which saw ten shots aside, it only took one play to decide the Fordham-St. John's match-up at the Hofstra Invitational in Hempstead, N.Y. Unfortunately for the Rams, it came off the foot of St. John's Runa Stefansdottir, who scored the only goal in a 1-0 decision in favor of the Red Storm. [Full Story]

After two goals in the first 1:13 of the game, it took another 104 minutes to find the game-winner in the soccer match-up between Fordham and Manhattan. The two crosstown rivals played even at 1-1 until the 105th minute, when Fordham's Mariella Romano headed in a cross from Katie McDermott to give the Rams a 2-1 overtime win over the Jaspers at Jack Coffey Field. It is the first time in program history that Fordham has begun a season with three straight wins.[Full Story]

Fordham University senior midfielder Katie McDermott (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) was named as one of 30 candidates for this year's Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for women's soccer, it was announced earlier this week. She is the second Fordham athlete to be listed as a Senior CLASS Award candidate, joining Kevin Meyer in 2006 from men's soccer.[Full Story]
