The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2008 Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference and All-Rookie teams this afternoon, with the Rams being well represented. Three women's soccer players, senior Kim Boulos (Croton, N.Y./Croton Harmon), junior Courtney Fedge (Bellport, N.Y./Bellport), and sophomore Katie McDermott (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) were named to the Preseason All-Conference team, while freshman Mariella Romano (Whitestone, N.Y./Townsend Harris) was named to the Preseason All-Rookie Team. Fordham University women's soccer coach Ness Selmani announced the newest recruiting class for the upcoming season, as four new players will suit up for Fordham in 2008. The newest members of the Fordham women's soccer team are midfielder Mariella Romano (Whitestone, N.Y./Townsend Harris), midfielder/defender Michaela Murphy (Dunstable, Mass./Groton Dunstable Regional), forward Katherine Wah (Arlington, Mass./Arlington), and midfielder/defender Eva DeCesaro (Portland, Ore./Sunset).[Full Story]

Over 200 Fordham University student-athletes were honored for compiling a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at the Fifth Annual Breakfast for Champions held on January 27th in the McGinley Center Ballroom. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 2007 adidas Women's Soccer All-Northeast Region teams this afternoon, with the Rams being well represented among the Northeast's best. Three Fordham players earned All-Region honors led by sophomore Courtney Fedge (Bellport, N.Y./Bellport), who was named First Team All-Northeast Region. Charlotte's Hailey Beam tallied a goal and assist, while Lauren Brown made eight saves, as Charlotte held off a strong Fordham rally to earn a 3-2 win in the finals of the 2007 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday at the 49ers' Transamerica Field.
