Women's Soccer Takes on Host Charlotte in Atlantic 10 Championship Semifinals on Friday

Following their 3-0 win last night, the Fordham women's soccer team will play in the Atlantic 10 semifinals against host Charlotte at 5:30 PM. The Rams will look to avenge an earlier loss to the 49ers, and hopefully repeat their 2006 Atlantic 10 Championship run, where they defeated Charlotte in the Atlantic 10 semifinals. Women's Soccer Opens A-10 Championship With 3-0 Win Over UMass

Behind an offensive explosion of three goals on a season-high 27 shots, the third-seeded Fordham women's soccer team (9-11-1) opened the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship with a 3-0 victory over sixth-seeded Massachusetts (6-12-2) at Transamerica Field in Charlotte, N.C.   • The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2009 Women's Soccer All-Conference and All-Rookie teams this afternoon, with the Rams having three honorees. Senior defender Lauren Bustos (Altadena, Calif./Flintridge Sacred Heart) and junior midfielder Katie McDermott (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) were named First Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference, while freshman forward Annie Worden (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery) was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.[Full Story]

  • Still playing for seeding at next week's Atlantic 10 Championship, the Fordham women's soccer team got a late first half goal by Katherine Wah, as well as a tally from Leah Loguidice in the second half, to earn a 2-0 win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at McGraw-Jennings Field.   • Women's Soccer Drops Contest at Duquesne
  • The Fordham women's soccer team looked to solidify their spot at next week's Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday as they opened their final conference weekend at Duquesne. The Dukes however spoiled that notion with a 4-1 victory over the Rams at Rooney Field.   • Playing yet another game on a cold, rainy night, the Fordham women's soccer team celebrated Senior Night in style, as freshman Annie Worden sent off the senior class with a win, scoring the only goal of the game in the 83rd minute for a 1-0 shutout of La Salle University on Jack Coffey Field.[Full Story]

  • Fordham freshman Sarah Zieman (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 18th.
