Whitney Coleman, a standout with the Monmouth men's basketball squad from 2005-09, is in his second year with Coach Gaitley's staff at Fordham, serving as the Video Coordinator. He will be in charge of supervising film exchange, assisting in the development of game day activities and assisting with marketing efforts for the women's program. A 2009 Monmouth graduate, Coleman played four year of varsity basketball for the Hawks. The East Lyme, Connecticut native was a two-year captain, leading Monmouth to the NEC Championship in 2006 and ended his career as a 1,000 point scorer. Coleman also finished as Monmouth's career leader in games played and was fifth in career steals (167). Coleman began his Monmouth career by being selected to the 2006 Northeast Conference All-Rookie Team, averaging 6.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Prior to Monmouth, Coleman was a men's basketball team captain at St. Thomas More Prep School. A graduate of East Lyme High School where he lettered in basketball, football and track, Coleman led the basketball team to three Eastern Connecticut Conference championships. He earned all-state honors in basketball, football and track and was also named all-conference and all-area in basketball. |
