Water Polo Splits Pair of Matches on Day Two of the Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - The Fordham water polo team wrapped up play at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, picking up its first win of the season against George Washington, while falling to Bucknell.
With the split, Fordham is 1-6 on the season.
In the opening match, Bucknell defeated Fordham by a 20-8 score.
Bucknell led 8-5 at halftime, which was followed by a seven-goal outburst in the third quarter, which put the game of out of reach.
In the second game, four Rams finished with multi-goal games as Fordham topped George Washington 11-8 to earn its first victory of the season.
The Rams led 7-2 at the half and scored three times in the third quarter to lead by eight.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on September 15-16, as the Rams head to Annapolis, Maryland, for the Navy Invitational.
