The Fordham water polo team opened its 2010 season on Saturday at the Navy Labor Day Open in Annapolis, Maryland. The Rams almost pulled out a sweep of their three matches, defeating George Washington and Diablo Valley Club, but could not keep 14th-ranked Navy at bay, falling by one. [Full Story]

All of them have been on campus for over two weeks for preseason practice. Some have even started their season already. But that didn't stop members of the Fordham University football, volleyball, men's soccer, water polo, cross country and cheerleading squads from spending part of their Sunday standing at the ready outside of the various dorms, helping the incoming freshmen unload their vehicles. As the dog days of summer continue to roll along, today's catch-up focuses on a member of the Fordham golf team, Brody Nieporte, and water polo head coach Bill Harris. Nieporte finished as the runner-up at the LIGA Amateur Championship, this past weekend, while Harris is raising funds for cancer research this Saturday as a part of Swim Across America. [Full Story]

Fordham water polo head coach Bill Harris announced the newest additions to the 2010 squad today, as seven players will join the Rams. The list includes utility player Nicholas Allen (Norwalk, Conn./Suffield Academy), driver Ben Clinkinbeard (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic), driver Ricky Dilday (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson), driver Dan Kearney (Danville, Calif./De La Salle), utility player Willie Leach (Arlington, Va./Gonzaga College HS), goalkeeper Eric Mullery (Miami, Fla./Christopher Columbus), and goalkeeper Teddy Rasmussen (Fullerton, Calif./Servite).[Full Story]

Five Fordham water polo players were named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Men's All-Academic Team today. The All-Academic Team honors varsity and club student-athletes who have achieved grade point averages of 3.2 or higher and competed during the 2009 men's season.[Full Story]

On a day when the NFL crowned a champion, Fordham University recognized 275 student-athletes as champions, including eight members of the water polo program.
