Water Polo Announces Recruiting Class for 2009

Fordham water polo coach Bill Harris announced three new additions to the Fordham water polo squad today, as driver Jake Bakas (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit), utility player Cashel Barnett (Carmichael, Calif./Rio Americano), and driver Daniel Barron (Darien, Ill./Fenwick) will join the team in 2009. [Full Story]

Timmy Will Named 2008 Fordham Water Polo MVP

As the 2008-09 season begins to wind down, the Fordham University Athletic Department held its 75th annual Block F Awards Dinner on April 29th to honor the student-athletes for their accomplishments during the academic year. Fordham Water Polo Student-Athletes Honored by the ACWPC

Five members of the Fordham University water polo squad were honored today by being named the 2008 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team. The Fordham honorees are seniors Luke Forand and Timmy Will along with sophomores Mark Connor, Martin de Jong and Scott Nemecek. [Full Story]

  • The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced the 2008 Men's All-North and All-South Division Teams this past weekend as part of the 2008 Eastern Championship Hall of Fame Banquet in Annapolis, Md. Among those honored, Fordham sophomore Alex Powell (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Palos Verdes) was named First Team All-North, while senior Timmy Will (Surfside, Fla./Miami Beach Sr.) earned Second Team All-North honors.[Full Story]

  • Water Polo Records 100% Graduation Rate

  • Eight Fordham University teams, including water polo, registered a perfect average based on four-year graduation rates from student-athletes entering school from 1998-2001, according to the NCAA Graduation Success Report on Division I student-athletes. Seven of the eight teams were in a sport sponsored by the Atlantic 10, ranking Fordham fourth among conference schools.[Full Story]
