Men's Tennis Falls to Concordia, 8-1

Bronxville, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's tennis team traveled up to Bronxville on Wednesday to face Concordia College, falling to the Clippers, 8-1. With the win, the Rams drop to 5-9 on the year. Fordham opened the match dropping all three doubles matches. Dallas Harting and Eli Plangger fell at first doubles to Concordia's Alex Grubin and Andrey Boldarev, 8-2, while Peter Slucky and Sotiris Georgiou lost at second doubles to Richi Malobicky and Henning Ruenz, 8-0. At third doubles, Fordham's Kevin Maloney and Brandon Abbatiello were upended by Vito Galatioto and Karim Belhadj, 8-2. In singles play, Plangger picked up a point for the Rams with a straight set win over Joseph Giamboi at sixth singles, 6-0 and 6-1. All other Fordham singles players fell in straight sets. The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, April 18th, as they host La Salle University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 11:00 a.m. Fordham at Concordia
