Finals are over which means it's time to for the Fordham University students to head home for summer break, a time when students take on summer jobs, reunite with hometown friends and maybe take a dip in the lake. For Fordham freshman Steve Sholdra (Renton, Wash./H.B. Education (Wash.)) that dip in the lake came early as he competed in the 2013 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships in Castaic Lake, California, where he finished 15th in the 5K race and 17th in the 10K. While most students on campus were sleeping in before heading to Edwards Parade to enjoy one of nicest spring days the semester, about 90 Fordham University student-athletes, including members of the men's swimming and diving program, woke up early and spent some time in the sun of the Rockaways, lending a hand those affected by Hurricane Sandy as part of the university's Sandy Solidarity Project. - 147 Fordham Student-Athletes Named to Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Fall 2012 semester

The Atlantic 10 Conference established a new record for number of student-athletes, with 1,637 earning Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction for the Fall 2012 semester. Among those honored were 147 Fordham University student-athletes, the highest representation among the conference schools, including four members of the men's swimming and diving team.[Full Story]

The Fordham men's swimming & diving team moved into a tie for sixth place after day three of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship, held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. It was a record setting day for the Rams, as three school records were broken, while junior Shintaro Noguchi defended his 100-yard butterfly title, breaking the Atlantic 10 record in the process.[Full Story]

The Fordham men's swimming & diving team closed out the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship in fifth place at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The incredible night of finals saw a very excited Steve Sholdra capture gold in the 1650-yard freestyle by breaking the oldest Atlantic 10 record on the books, while three more school records were broken.[Full Story]

- 15 Men's Swimming and Diving Student-Athletes Honored at Tenth Annual Breakfast for Champions

A day after Fordham University recognized some of its finest athletes at the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the school recognized 345 student-athletes as champions for their academic prowess at the tenth annual Breakfast for Champions in the McGinley Center Ballroom and Lounge, including 15 members of the men's swimming and diving program. The Rams in attendance were honored for compiling a 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher at an event sponsored by the Fordham Athletic Department with assistance from the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and the Office of Academic Advising.[Full Story]
