Golf Opens Spring Season at Yale
April 4, 2009 New Haven, Conn. - The Fordham golf team returned for their first action of the spring on Saturday, as they competed at the Yale Spring Opener in New Haven, Connecticut. In raucous weather conditions, the Rams placed tenth in the 36-hole tournament. The Rams finished with a two-round total of 671 (337-334), 19 strokes back of Trinity College for ninth. Fordham was led by freshman Devon O'Rourke, who tied for 24th overall with a total score of 158, shooting rounds of 80 and 78. Nik Andresen tied for 36th overall with a two-round total of 164 (85-79), followed by Charles Smith in 48th place with a total score of 172 (85-87). Zach Murray (50th - 97-90-177) and Nico Mizono (51st - 90-99-189) rounded out the Fordham competitors. The Fordham golf team will next be in action on Monday, April 6th, as they compete at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational, held at the Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
