Men's Basketball Continues Atlantic 10 Play by Hosting UMass on Sunday at 1:00 PM

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continues their 2013 Atlantic 10 season by hosting the University of Massachusetts in the Rose Hill Gym on Sunday at 1:00 PM (Please note that this is a time change from the original schedule). Fordham enters the game with a 5-11 record, 1-0 in the Atlantic 10, after an 82-75 conference win over Duquesne University in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night. Massachusetts enters the game with a 10-4 overall record, 0-1 in the A-10, and is coming off a 70-62 conference setback at Saint Louis University on Thursday night.
Sunday afternoon's contest will be the 38th meeting between Fordham and Massachusetts on the hardwood with the Minutemen leading the all-time series, which started in the 1967-68 season, 25-12. The Minutemen won last year's meeting, 80-76, on January 5th in the Mullins Center as Chaz Williams scored 20 points, including three free throws in the final eleven seconds, and Terrell Vinson added 14 points and 14 rebounds. The Rams won the 2011 matchup, 77-73, in the regular season finale in the Rose Hill Gym on March 5th as Brenton Butler scored a game-high 29 points and Chris Gaston added 19 points and 17 rebounds as Fordham snapped a 41-game Atlantic 10 losing streak.
On the court, Fordham is led by junior guard Branden Frazier, who is averaging a team-high 15.8 ppg, fourth in the Atlantic 10, and he is averaging a team-best 5.6 assists/game, second best in the A-10, after dishing out a career-high 13 in the win over Duquesne on Wednesday. Senior forward Chris Gaston is averaging 14.5 ppg and a team-high 7.4 rpg after his third double-double of the year with 18 points and ten rebounds against Duquesne while freshman guard Mandell Thomas is averaging 9.8 ppg over the past five games and 5.3 ppg on the year and sophomore Ryan Canty is averaging 7.4 ppg and 6.8 rpg on the year.
