Squash Falls to Purdue in Quarterfinals of CSA Team Championships

Princeton, N.J. - After advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2009 College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships at Princeton University with a first round win over Washington, the Fordham University squash team fell to Purdue in the quarterfinals in the Serues Division, 6-3 on Saturday. Brandon Abbatiello, Andriy Kulak and James Lechleitner picked up the wins for Fordham, winning at the fourth, sixth and eighth positions, respectively. Abbatiello defeated Purdue's Matt Murphy by a 3-0 score (10-8, 9-4, 9-2) while Kulak was victorious over Archit Singh, 3-1, winning the first game 9-2 before dropping the second, 9-4. But Kulak came back to win the third game (9-0) and the fourth (9-6) to win the match. Lechleitner defeated Aabas Sharma by a 3-0 score (9-4, 9-2, 10-8). With the loss, the Rams fall to 5-10 on the year and they will next play Vassar College in the third place game on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. Fordham vs. Purdue
