Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University Cheerleading team will hold tryouts for the 2010-11 team on Saturday, April 10th from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm and on Sunday, April 11th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Lombardi Field House. All tryout requirements are listed below.

The Fordham University Cheerleaders cheer for Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, perform at University functions and volunteer in the community. The team also competes at UCA's College Cheerleading National Championships in January in Orlando, Florida. The team practices three to five days a week and has mandatory weight training three days a week as well.

Each member must be enrolled as a student at Fordham University and must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average.

Tryout Requirements:
-Incoming Freshmen
- Acceptance Letter
- Health insurance information - Proof of a physical within the past year - Fordham participant's general release form (located on the website, print it out, sign it and bring with you).
- Tumbling: Standing back handspring. Any running pass is acceptable although not required.
- Stunts: Liberty, heel-stretch, arabesque, full downs either flying or basing or both Fight Song, Cheer and Dance: The fight song, cheer and dance will be taught at the tryout.

***Candidates not able to perform some of the above skills may be considered if he/she shows exceptional ability in other areas that will help improve our cheerleading program.

Please be sure to wear shorts, a tank top and sneakers (cheer sneakers preferably). If you can not attend tryouts you have the option of submitting a tryout video by April 1st. The video must include:
-Cheer
-Dance
-Stunts
-Tumbling
