ll of them have been on campus for over two weeks for preseason practice. Some have even started their season already. But that didn't stop members of the Fordham University football, volleyball, men's soccer, water polo, cross country and cheerleading squads from spending part of their Sunday standing at the ready outside of the various dorms, helping the incoming freshmen unload their vehicles. The Fordham Cheerleaders began training for the upcoming 2010-2011 season this past week. The squad, who cheers for football, men's basketball, women's basketball and competes in Universal Cheerleaders Association College Nationals, introduced nine new rookies to the team with a week-long training camp held at Rose Hill. - 13 Cheerleading Student-Athletes Honored at Sixth Annual Breakfast for Champions

On a day when the NFL will crown a champion, Fordham University recognized 275 student-athletes as champions, including 13 members of the cheerleading program. The Rams in attendance were honored for compiling a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at the Sixth Annual Breakfast for Champions in the McGinley Center Ballroom.[Full Story]

On Sunday, October 18th, the Fordham University cheerleader will be rising early and venturing into Manhattan where they will lend their time and energy to a very worthwhile cause.
