Biography

Named preseason first team All-America by The Sports Network and the Beyond Sports Network... a 2014 preseason All-Patriot League selection... capped an outstanding junior year by being named a consensus All-American… set school single-season receiving yards mark in 2013 as well as tying record for most touchdown receptions… a 2013 First Team All-Patriot League pick… the 2013 Fordham Offensive Player of the Year… led squad in receptions and receiving yards and tied for team lead in scoring catches… became fourth Fordham player to amass more than 1,000 receiving yards in a season… built on a solid freshman year with eleven catches as a sophomore in 2012… had an immediate impact as a freshman, catching 15 passes in his rookie campaign… closed out a solid spring season with three receptions for 35 yards in the 2012 Spring Game… led high school squad as a senior with 67 catches for 924 yards.

2013: A consensus All-America… Named First Team Beyond Sports Network and College Sports Madness All-America… Named Second Team Associated Press and Sports Network All-America… an ECAC All-Star and First Team All-Patriot League selection… started all 14 games in 2013… had 93 receptions for a school-record 1,646 yards, both team highs, and 14 touchdowns… tied school record with 14 receiving touchdowns… became fourth Fordham player to amass more than 1,000 receiving yards in a season… second in the NCAA FCS in receiving yards, fourth in receiving yards/game (117.4) and 12th in receptions per game (6.6)… led Patriot League in total receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and was second in receiving yards/game and receptions/game… set school record with 282 receiving yards (on ten catches) and tied school mark with four touchdowns at Yale… named College Sports Madness national offensive player of the week and College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) national wide receiver performer of the week as well as Patriot League offensive player of the week following the Yale game… made a career-high 12 receptions for 189 yards in win over Holy Cross… made six catches for 123 yards and one score versus Bucknell… caught four passes for 112 yards with two scores in the season opener with Rhode Island… had seven catches for 68 yards vs. Villanova and seven more for 134 yards at Temple, including the game-winning touchdown with four seconds left in the game… hauled in six passes for 64 yards versus Columbia… caught seven passes for a career-high 166 yards and three touchdowns (25, 40 and 62 yards) versus Lehigh… named honorable mention wide receiver performer of the week by the CFPA and College Sports Madness Patriot League offensive player of the week following the Lehigh game… made eight catches for 91 yards at Georgetown… hauled in seven passes for 128 yards and one score in NCAA FCS playoff game vs. Sacred Heart… had eight receptions for 120 yards and two scores in second round NCAA playoff game at Towson.

2012: Appeared in all eleven games as a sophomore at wide receiver… made eleven catches for 168 yards (15.3 yards/reception) with one touchdown…also returned four kickoffs for 65 yards (16.2 yards/return)…caught four passes for 65 yards in the season opener with Lock Haven…made two catches for 47 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown in the Cornell game.

2011: Appeared in eight games at wide receiver as a freshman, starting two… hauled in 15 passes for 144 yards (9.6 yards/reception) with one touchdown… opened his collegiate career with seven catches for 47 yards in the season opener at Connecticut… followed that with four receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown (60 yards) in the win over Columbia… made three catches for ten yards at Rhode Island… recorded an eleven-yard reception against Bucknell.

Before Fordham: A graduate of DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas, where he lettered in football for head coach Claude Mathis… a Second Team All-District 11-5A selection… caught 67 passes for 924 yards (13.8 average) and six touchdowns, all team highs, as a senior… helped DeSoto advance to Class 5A Division I Region II finals, the furthest the team had reached in the playoffs since 2006… team finished the 2010 season with an 11-3 record… named offensive MVP… served as a team captain… recorded 393 receiving yards on 19 receptions (20.7 average) and four touchdowns as a junior... participated with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program… also a member of the Peer Assistance and Leadership program.

Personal: Son of Bisi and James Alao… has three older siblings (Ayo, Lola and Sonia)… a Business Administration major.
