Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly swimming & diving awards on Tuesday, and Fordham freshman
Chloe Mitchell (Sacramento, Calif.) was selected as the league's women's Rookie of the Week. It is her first career honor.
In her first collegiate meet against Marist, Mitchell kicked off her Fordham career by winning the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:36.07, and followed that with a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:14.90. She was also a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay, which posted a time of 3:38.30.
Mitchell and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving team will have a busy week in the coming days. The Rams host Monmouth and Fairfield for a tri-meet on Friday night at 5:00 PM, while hosting Boston University on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
