Ryan Canty to Take Leave of Absence from Fordham Basketball

Bronx, N.Y. (November 18, 2013) – Fordham University men's basketball head coach Tom Pecora announced today that junior center Ryan Canty will take a leave of absence from the team to address personal issues.
 
"We want only what is best for Ryan Canty as he addresses these issues," said Pecora. "We will continue to support Ryan in any way we can. We ask that everyone respect his privacy at this time and we wish Ryan and his family the best as he moves forward."
 
Canty has appeared in the first three games this season for the Rams, averaging 3.3 ppg and 3.3 rpg while also recording two steals.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday, November 23, as they host the Sacred Heart University Pioneers in the Rose Hill Gym at 4:00 p.m.
