A favorite of student-athletes and coaches alike, Wilson had seen almost 900 men's basketball games, almost 300 football games, and countless other games at the Rose Hill campus. A native of West Haven, CT Wilson gradated from Quinnipiac College in 1957. He then served as an assistant trainer at Yale University for five years before joining the Fordham staff. At Fordham, Wilson has received numerous awards, including the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) 20-year service Award and the Jack Coffey Award for outstanding contributions to the athletic program. An outstanding high school athlete, Wilson was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers out of high school but an injury cut short his playing career. Wilson also served as team trainer for the National Invitation Tournament All-Star squads, touring Europe and Australia. |
