05/02/2013 Fordham Athletics Host 79th Block F DinnerPatrick Murray, Brienne Ryan, Marah Strickland and Stephanie Gaitley Win Top Awards at 2013 Awards Dinner Marianne Reilly has worn many hats during her tenure with the Fordham University Athletic Department, from coach to athletic administrator, over the past 25 years. Reilly began her Fordham career in 1982, serving as an assistant women's basketball coach for two years, before going on to become the head coach at Mount St. Vincent from 1984-86. She returned to Rose Hill in 1987, again serving as an assistant women's basketball coach, but also adding the duties of Assistant Director of the Vincent T. Lombardi Center, helping to organize the intramural and club sports programs as well as handling the scheduling for the Lombardi Center and supervising the center's staff. In 1993, Reilly assumed the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance as well as being named the Senior Women's Administrator (SWA) for the Athletic Department. In that role, she became responsible for all facets of academic compliance and eligibility, working with the varsity coaches and with the various conferences and the NCAA. She also represents Fordham as the department's SWA at conference and NCAA meetings. She was promoted to her current position as the Senior Associate Athletic Director in 1996 where in addition to overseeing compliance and eligibility, she also oversees the department's lifeskills program and is the liaison to a number of intercollegiate sports. A 1982 graduate of Manhattan College, Reilly was a four-year standout with the Jasper's women's basketball squad. She became the first woman inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992. Reilly and her husband, Tom Delaney, reside in Tuckahoe, New York. |
