Charlie McMillan, former head football equipment manager at Wagner College, was named equipment manager at Fordham University in May of 2011. McMillan joins the Fordham staff after serving as the head football equipment manager at Wagner College from June 2009 until April 2001. He was responsible for all facets of equipment management, including developing and implementing systems to maximize efficiency in the areas of inventory control, game travel and apparel management. He also supervised a student worker staff while overseeing equipment distribution for 130 student-athletes, coaches and support staff. McMillan also managed the budgets and expenses for the football program and conducted research and handled the competitive bidding process with companies and vendors. While serving as the football equipment manager, McMillan also worked as a graduate assistant with the Wagner athletic department, assisting with game operations by conducting all game day responsibilities for men's and women's basketball and football and serving as the officials' host for men's and women's basketball games. He also managed the Spiro Sports Center, serving as a main contact to members and staff for all questions, comments and concerns. A 2009 graduate of Wagner College with a degree in Sociology, McMillan was an equipment and video assistant for the Seahawks football program from 2007-09, assisting the equipment manager with inventory, laundry, and the distribution of gear and apparel to players, coaches and support staff as well as aiding in the filming of practice and games and the editing and team transfer of film. McMillan, who was a member of the Seahawks' football team from 2005-07, received a Masters Degree in Education from Wagner in May of 2011. |
