Football

After suffering a career threatening head injury during a game vs. Tulane, Hudacek returned, full of desire, with a specifically designed helmet in 1940, seeing spot duty on the 7-2 Cotton Bowl squad, most notably as a field goal kicker. In 1941 Hudacek became a regular once more, against SMU his field goal tied the game with three minutes remaining. Then against North Carolina, the tackle snagged a deflected pass and ran 70 yards to steal a 27-14 victory over the Tar Heels.

The "Plymouth Rock" as he was known graduated from Fordham in 1942 before attending medical school.
