Jerry Hobbie, a 1985 College of Business Administration graduate, was a mainstay on the Fordham men's basketball teams of the early 1980's. He helped lead the Rams to four straight NIT appearances, the 1983 MAAC Championship and a total of 75 wins between the 1981-82 season and the 1984-85 season.

One of the most proficient free throws shooters in Fordham history, Hobbie set the school single season record shooting .877 from the free throw line in 1981-82 and his .815 career free throw shooting percentage is third best in Fordham history. He also holds the Fordham record for most assists in a game (15) and dished out 180 assists as a senior in 1984-85, when he also served as a team captain, the second best in Fordham history.

Defensively, Hobbie recorded 75 steals as a senior in 1984-85, the second most in a season for a Fordham player and he graduated with a school record 261 career steals.

Following graduation, Hobbie entered the coaching profession. He currently serves as the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach at Fairfield University where he has been for the past eight years.
