Tom Gleason, one of the most prolific male swimmers in Fordham University history, is a 1979 graduate of the College of Business Administration. He began his career qualifying for the Metropolitan and Eastern Championships as a freshman and later, qualified for the NCAA Championships as a sophomore.

A team captain for both his junior and senior seasons, Gleason set the school 100 butterfly record as a junior and then reset that record as a senior, leading the Rams to an undefeated season as a senior. That same year, he also served as the captain of the Fordham water polo team.

Gleason is also a member of the school-record setting 400 free relay, a record which still stands today, as he joins the other three members of that 1979 relay in the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the 400 and 800 freestyle relays and the medley relay, all school-recording setting squads.

Following graduation, Gleason continued to compete in swimming and water polo with the NYAC and he was inducted into the Rhode Island Swimming Hall of Fame.
