Julio Diaz was appointed as an Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions at Fordham University by Frank McLaughlin in October of 1985, rejoining McLaughlin's staff after serving as an assistant basketball coach under McLaughlin since 1983. Diaz, who was elevated to Associate Athletic Director in 1994, has also served as a moderator of the Fordham University golf team for the past eleven years. When he arrived at Fordham, Diaz was responsible for scheduling for various athletic teams as well as for group and season ticket sales and promotions after handling promotional duties for all 41 sports at Harvard. As an Associate Athletic Director, Diaz is currently responsible for all for marketing and promotions for the Fordham athletic program. This includes soliciting and securing sponsorships, as well as game-day promotions, game-day entertainment and fan contests. The Bronx, New York native, graduated from Fordham Prep in 1973 and Fordham University in 1977. Following gradation, he served as an assistant basketball coach at St. Anselm's and Dartmouth colleges before returning to Rose Hill in 1985. He also served as head basketball coach at Fordham Prep during the 1979-80 season when he led his alma mater to a 21-5 record. Diaz and his wife, Annett, have a daughter, Marisa. They reside in Ossining, New York. |
