Ken Auer displayed his Hall of Fame credentials during his sophomore year in 1932 when he received highest pitching honors in the East with a string of ten consecutive victories against no defeats. He once held the school record for most complete games in a season, 9 in 1932. For his exploits, Auer was recognized as one of the top pitchers in the east and was named baseball MVP in 1933. Upon graduation, Auer signed a pro contract with the New York Yankees organization. A year later, he joined the New York Fire Department from which he retired in 1958. |
